After being commissioned to design the title sequence and main release poster for an independent horror film, I went on to create a set of limited edition posters to aid in the movie promotion.
Movie Title Sequence
Drawing on the movie’s cannibalistic subject matter I designed the title sequence to hint at this, while also creating a bridge between the opening scene and the next.
In the opening scene we see a woman, strapped to a chair, being tortured by the villain as she is force-fed what appears to be human flesh. The following scene we see a couple having dinner in a restaurant.
The title sequence appears to follow on from the first scene, as we watch the flesh being sliced and cooked on the stove; only to realise we were actually watching the food being prepared for the second scene.
I then compiled a test animatic, using stock photos and, due to the heavy influence on the concept, the intro track to the movie Seven.

Main release poster
The main poster needed to reflect the genre and appeal to the mass audience. Being a low-budget movie, from a relatively unknown director, it needed to portray a sense of professionalism and familiarity, and therefore took influence from many current horror movie posters

A modern take on a classic theme
I also created a set of limited edition, screen-printed posters, inspired by classic B-movie posters. These designs pay homage to the genre’s origins, while taking a more modern, minimal approach.
